Thinking Botanical
The spring is very slow to arrive up here in Maine... although it seems its just around the corner?! The gardening itch is in full swing and I've been living in these plant studies! We're anxiously waiting to find out if/where/when we will be moving in the next few months. The first thing I plan to do before even unpacking is starting a small test garden of all the wonderful varieties of heirloom bulbs and flowers to paint from. For now all I can do is arrange them in painitngs!

Joshua Tree in Progress
In preparation for an exciting trip out west and in a continued fascination for the plant, I've begun working on a few paintings of the Joshua tree. I'm enjoying the pallet of cool cobalt blues and warm peaches, the sun streaming through my studio, and the pile of cut out hummingbirds!
I've come to halt on how to finish this one so have started a few smaller versions to help inform the next steps. Stay tuned!

The rug is here!!!
Another collaboration! This rug is one of my favorites among the 2013 spring projects with Anthropologie. The woven detail in plush wool is impeccable! See it here.
